WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ON: *** 14th JANUARY 2025 The Kimberleys *** Yorkshire born Isobel, a singer songwriter, met Essex boy Jim while seeking instrumentalists to collaborate on her original material. Her folk influences were gathered from an early age, initially in the folk clubs of Yorkshire, at university (where she opened for Dick Gaughan) and later whilst living in the USA. On moving to London, Jim became a session drummer and he numbered several folk musicians among his connections, one of which lead to him depping on drums with The Albion Band. Whilst recording and touring Isobel's original songs, the pair had always enjoyed making folk music just between themselves so, in due course, it seemed obvious to take folk music more seriously.... The Kimberleys had the material and the experience to go it alone. Their ability to create daringly creative arrangements of well-loved ballads, whilst remaining completely respectful to the origins of the song, immediately attracted attention and appreciation. PAM & ALAN COLLS
| Founders of the Dartford Folk Club, Pam and Alan Colls ran the Club together for over 40 years, booking an amazing variety of artists within the Folk genre. Sadly both Pam and Alan have passed away but, at our 50th Birthday celebrations in October 2023, the team, guests and audience raised a glass to remember their friendship, achievements and amazing contributions to the music world. The Dartford Folk Club is now managed by a small team of original members in memory of and as a legacy to Pam & Alan's love for music.
